India has always been and continues to be the spiritual capital of the world. It has been the proud privilege of India to be the birthplace of many great Saints, Sages, thinkers and seers gifted with divine vision. This holy land was blessed by being the appearance place of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj (5 October 1922 - 15 November 2013), lovingly called Shri Maharaj Ji by all.

As the supreme exponent of Sanatan Dharm, the eternal Vedic religion, Shri Maharaj Ji beautifully reconciled the diverse thoughts and philosophies regarding spirituality prevalent in the world with such clarity and simplicity, that the most profound and esoteric wisdom contained within the scriptures became accessible to all, regardless of age, race or culture. In so doing, he established the supremacy of his unique and absolute knowledge before the entire world.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj was the fifth Saint in the history of the world to be given the title of Jagadguru. What makes him uniquely different from his predecessors is that he was honoured with the unprecedented title of Jagadguruttam (The Supreme among all Jagadgurus). According to the time-honoured tradition associated with bestowing this title, it is only given to one deemed invincible following stringent scriptural debate. How and why did such an exceptional episode of honouring Shri Maharaj Ji as Jagadguruttam happen?
